A friend asked me: why don't you write the kind of stuff you used to write on your blog? Well, I suppose it's either because I grow more overworked and older and tireder and have less energy for it by the day, or because I can only write about myself and there isn't anything left to say, or a bit of both. Which is quite depressing, isn't it? Ho hum. (there was a man, a long, long time ago, who used to say 'ho hum' a lot. I was talking about him to the same friend yesterday. Funny how these things, long forgotten, come back to you.)
I think what you write about is wonderful, and look forward to what you will choose to write about next. I love the spare shorthand of it.

Oh, I hear you on this. For the past few weeks, I've felt like I've gotten SICK OF HEARING MYSELF. When I meditate, I watch my thoughts; when I write in my journal, I write them. The prospect, then, of BLOGGING my thoughts is nauseating: why would I want to inflict on other folks the SAME OLD THOUGHTS?
There's nothing new under the sun(set?), and yet...your thoughts are new to me, and they give me respite from my own, old, oft-repeated ones. So that's the other side of the equation. You might feel like there's nothing new to tell, but to us, it's new, it's new!
Blog nauseau must be going around - I've been fighting it too, lately. (Well, O.K., not just lately.)
Oh I hear you .... since a condition I know only too well, too.
and funny about that "ho hum" -- the person in my life who used to say this had an extra line: "and a bottle of rum." Only for her, the bottle was filled vodka.
whenever I am on a bipolar down swing there is only one thing that really helps...
I say to myself, "it will pass."
And it does...eventually.
Yes, yes! I can identify with this. It is most certainly becoming more difficult to find "news" about my self that is "news-worthy!"
That being said, I always love reading your blog, Jean. I love the way you write and the types of pictures you choose to illustrate a feeling, thought or idea ... keep on keeping on.
