Pleasing indeed. Nice rhythm, muted colours, beautiful lighting.

But I think it's mostly because of the perspective effect (you chose the camera position well): the vanishing point of the floor slab and the lit-up bits of bolted cast-iron structure falls exactly at her (invisible) left eye.

I can't come up with the haiku for this, but I really love it. The elbows, the shadows (they'd be good in the haiku...), the greys and blacks

Thanks! So good to know that my visual instincts are sound and there WERE reasons for liking this! Of course, you are right, Udge and TG about the colours, shadows, perspective, light etc. Just shows how brain-dead I was yesterday when I posted this: overworked, overtired, hadn't slept, migraine coming on... much better today. The elbow-in-cleavage is not so felicitous though,huh ? :-)
