Still not about Alice Neel

portrait of Ethel Ashton, 1930

Not managing to write about the Alice Neel exhibition. It was such an emotional experience. No paintings have ever affected me so much - and paintings often affect me a lot.  Wow, just wow, but good grief, hoping to come up with more than wow.

Jean, I would love to see this show and obviously can't -- so please do write about it! Did you buy a catalogue?

Jean, by the looks, "wow" is not an inappropriate response...

Give it all the time it needs to cook. Or ferment. Or settle. Use metaphor as applicable.

Jean, I'll be very interested to read your response to this show. I saw it over the weekend and haven't written about it though I probably should, after giving so much attention to the Freud exhibition. I did receive the DVD on Alice Neel and liked it very much.

Painter friend F went to see this and was in ecstasies about it. We watched a dvd of a doco about her together today. Fan-bloody-tastic. Will love to read what you have to say about her.
